An investigation into the potential of utilizing salvaged materials as the design stimulus for rebuilding a community post-disaster. The aim is to promote the use of reclaimed building materials as a strategy for retaining the identity of a place, whilst alleviating the pressure of waste disposal on the environment.

Option 4. A mix of option 1 & 2

Make use of both general commercial building debris, and more specific residential building materials.

Some materials will be in a highly contaminated state i.e demolished commercial buildings left in a pile, with much material damage

While some will be in perfect(ish) order i.e residential buildings which appear okay, but have irreparable structural damage (such as slipping off foundation slabs)

This option will showcase both a reaction to disaster (earthquake - debris) and more generalized deconstruction which is likely to occur more often
